Gael del Río (Barcelona, 199O) studied Architecture at the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona where she graduated in 2O15. She stumbled upon photography in the final stretch of her degree during her exchange year at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. It was there where she attended “Architecture After Dark” given by the architecture and landscape photographer Erieta Attali.
From that moment on, her personal and professional life turned progressively in that direction, completing her photography studies at IEFC and Grisart and working hand in hand for several years with architectural photographer Jordi Surroca.
Nowadays, as well as being professionally dedicated to architectural photography she develops personal projects which have been exhibited in Mutuo Art Center (Barcelona), Voies Off Festival (Arles) and Fotofever (Paris), among others.
Her photobook “Evocare” was finalist of the DOC Field Dummy Award 2017 and she received the 3rd prize in the Momowo International Photography Competition for her series “2 Architects in 1 apartment” in which she explores the relationship established by two architects and their domestic environment .
Luca Bani (Pisa, 1982) graduated in Architecture at the University of Florence in 2012 where he also worked as Adjunct Professor for the course in Architectural and Urban Planning IV.
Over the following three years he worked as an architect in various studios and then moved to Madrid where he attended the “Master en Construcción y Tecnología Arquitectónicas” at ETSAM.
It is on this occasion that, by attending various courses in analog and digital photography, he will begin to take an interest in the representation of architecture through images.
In the coming years this will first become a passion and then a profession. In 2017 he moved to Barcelona where he joined Gael del Río in forming an architectural photography team.
